Kysucká vrchovina is a mountain range on Kysuce bordering the Javorníky Mountains in the west, Kysucké Beskydy in the north and Oravské Beskydy in the north-east. The Malá Fatra Mountains are located in the east and with the Strážov Hills in the south. In the area of these hills are protected plants, animals, but also natural formations and finds. Therefore, it is not surprising that more than half of the Kysucké vrchy area is included under Kysuce Protected Landscape Area. It was founded in 1984 and its area is 655 km².
