Vladimír Jankovský
(born in 1933 in Kysucky Lieskovec) - pedagogue, scientist and inventor. In 1958 he graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Transport in Prague. He worked in various positions within the Czechoslovak Transport (ČSD). Since 1961 he worked at VŠDS Žilina, since r. 1983 as a university professor and DrSc. In the years 1980-1990 he was a vice-dean of the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. He worked scientifically at VŠDS Žilina in improving the quality, reliability and diagnostics of electric traction machines and traction vehicles. As part of his research work, he cooperated and applied the results of the solution in VUZ Prague, ČSD-ŽOS Vrútky, MEZ Vsetín, SEP Bratislava, Škoda Plzeň. He is the author of many scientific and professional papers in domestic and foreign publications and magazines. He is also the author of a textbook and textbooks for college students. He lectured at many scientific and professional conferences and seminars at home and abroad. By using his own inventions as the first in Slovakia, he carried out measurements of thermal stress and overload capacity of high voltage transformers and traction vehicle transformers during their operation.
