The right of purchase represents a feudal form of inherited lease of land for a longer period or permanently. It is connected with the environment of the village and the town in the Middle Ages. The landlord paid a regular fee for the lease, which was based on the land area. Mostly he could have sold this land or referred to it if the lord had given him permission.
